Q: Does the rental include an operator?
A: No. The rental includes the equipment only. You must provide your own operator. We recommend choosing someone who can attend a brief technical rehearsal to practice panning, tilting, iris control, and focusing the beam.

Q: How far can the spotlight throw an effective beam?
A: This LED follow spot is designed for short to medium throws, ideal for distances of 20 to 60 feet. It provides 8,140 lux at 2 meters (6.5 ft), making it perfect for smaller theaters, club stages, and event ballrooms.

Q: What are the power requirements?
A: It operates on standard 120V AC power and draws about 1.8 amps. You will need a dedicated grounded outlet near the operator's position. The included power cord is 10 feet long; you may need a heavy-duty extension cord.

Q: Can it be controlled by a lighting console?
A: Yes. The fixture has 3-pin XLR DMX input and output for daisy-chaining. It uses 3 DMX channels to control intensity, strobe, and color. It can also be operated entirely manually via controls on the housing.

Q: Do you deliver, set up, and focus the light?
A: We provide delivery and pickup (delivery fee applies). Setup, focusing, and operation are NOT included. We deliver the kit to your venue. Your team is responsible for assembly, placing the tripod, aiming, focusing, and operating the light.

Q: What is your delivery area in DFW?
A: We deliver throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Frisco, Irving, McKinney, Denton, and more.

Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: Follow spots are a specialty item with limited availability. For events on weekends or during peak production seasons, we strongly recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance.

Q: What is included with the gobo slot?
A: The rental includes the gobo slot mechanism. Custom metal or glass gobos are not included. You can purchase standard gobos online or through theatrical supply companies. The slot accepts standard "M" size gobos (23.7mm OD).

Q: Is it difficult to operate for a first-time user?
A: The manual controls are relatively straightforward. The most important skills for the operator are smooth pan/tilt movements to follow the subject and practice using the iris to frame them. A 30-minute practice session before the event is highly recommended.

Q: Can I rent two spots for a multi-operator setup?
A: Absolutely. For larger stages or to highlight multiple people (e.g., a wedding party), renting two follow spots is common. You can control them independently or via one DMX console.
